Tokyo Desu

We love seeing how Tokyo used to look. In this documentary footage aerial shots of the city are interspersed with scenes from the construction of Shinjuku Sumitomo Building, which stood as Tokyo’s tallest building for all of six months. Tokyo Tower casts a colossal figure on the skyline, a distant memory of it’s emasculated current state, buried amongst the surrounding skyscrapers, and commuters gape in wonder at Ginza subway station’s newly installed air conditioning.
